Proposed route from RWB to Swindon

We are in contact with most of the key stakeholders for the RWB-Swindon cycle path and trying to accelerate its progress, which is slow. We have started mapping the local RWB routes and are looking into how making small changes to the paths, such as cycle path signs, promoting the cycle paths etc could get them up and running as a real alternative to driving.

For the latest information please see the Wiltshire Gov web site https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/rwb-swindon-cycleway

Cycle routes around Royal Wootton Bassett

We have been supporting Wiltshire Council and Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council to develop cycle routes around town using our local knowledge.

Wiltshire Council have created this map to show residents the changes that are being considered in their area. For more detailed information about the individual routes that Active Travel group have developed, see below.

Route 1 - Academy Way

HIGH PRIORITY

High Street to Ballards Ash Sports Ground via RWB Academy and Lime Kiln Sports Centre

This route uses a combination of existing wider footpaths, cyclepaths and road routes where there is potential to build segregated routes/shared sections or to utilise wands to segregate on the existing road surface. Signage and route painting/differentiation are also needed.
